Graduate Program of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language

The Graduate Program of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at National Taiwan University invites applications for 1 to 2 faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) to begin in August 2017. 
 
General requirements:
Application for this position is open to scholars with a Ph.D. specializing in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, Chinese Language Teaching Methods and Materials, Chinese Corpus Linguistics and Applications, Computer/Information Technology in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.
Responsibilities include teaching, research, thesis supervision, student advising, and administrative service.
Applicants applying for professor level must have already been professor (or research fellow) at other academic institutions. Applicants applying for associate level must have already been associate professor (or associate research fellow) at other academic institutions. Applicants applying for assistant level must have a Ph.D. or have already been assistant professor at other academic institutions.
 
 
The application package should include the following documents:
   1. Two copies of résumé*
   2. Two copies of list of publications submitted for review *
   3. Two copies of list of publications *
   4. Two copies of Ph.D. diploma and official transcripts of the highest degree earned
   5. One copy of teaching certificate and/or employment certificate
   6. Five copies of representative publications in the past 5 years (Additional requirement: the work
       must be published after August 2012). Please provide an abstract (no more than 500 characters)
      for each work written in Chinese. Please provide both an abstract (no more than 500 Chinese
      characters) and a summary (no more than 5000 Chinese characters) for each work written in
      languages other than Chinese.
  7. Five copies of reference publications published after August, 2010
  8. One copy of list of selected works
  9. Future course syllabuses and research projects (the description of each course or future research idea
      should not exceed two pages of A4 sheets)

   The application material shall be returned upon request no later than 10 days after the announcement
   of the appointment. No late application will be accepted. 
 
 
 Notes:
1. The applicant who has ever applied for any type of teaching position at our department with the
    same representative publications must apply with a revised version of the work. In this case, a list
    of revisions where changes have been made should be provided. One can apply with the revised
    representative publications only once.
2. Our search committee will invite qualified applicants for an interview after the review of the
    materials has been completed. The department is not paying the candidate’s travel expenses.
