The Master’s Program of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language in National Taiwan University is jointly promoted and planned by the university’s Graduate Institute of Linguistics, Department of Chinese Literature, and Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. The program was formally established on August 1, 2011 after being approved by the Department of Education. The officers of the program are the officers of the aforementioned three departments or institutes. The first program director is Professor Wen-Yu Chiang, who was the dean of Graduate Institute of Linguistics at the time, and the second program director was Professor Long-Shien Lee, who was the dean of Department of Chinese Literature at that time. The third program director was the dean of Department of Chinese Literature, Chia-Ling Mei. Since August, 2019, the program has 6 dedicated professors and the program director is also a dedicated professor.
